AFRICA DAY INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
Africa Day is an international conference that has been organised annually by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia since 2012, in partnership with the London-based Chatham House and the European Commission.
The high-level event takes place under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Slovenia and within the framework of the Bled Strategic Forum.
The conference aims to enhance bilateral ties between Slovenia and African countries, with particular emphasis on strengthening political, economic and cultural cooperation. It is attended by high representatives of the governments, international and regional organisations, private sector, civil society, think tanks, and academia from Africa, Europe, and Slovenia in particular.

9th Africa Day International Conference – 10 November 2020
Expert discussions at this conference examined the role of collaborative links between Africa and Europe in accelerating progress on green transition and climate policy initiatives, and in seizing opportunities for long-term economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

8th Africa Day International Conference
The Conference deepened the discourse about the role of the Europe-Africa partnership in the economic transformation, inclusiveness, and jobs.
7th Africa Day International Conference
The Conference was dedicated to the key aspects of good governance, including joint efforts towards establishing global standards.
6th Africa Day International Conference
The Conference’s sixth edition focused on the topical issues of the 5th African Union-European Union Summit, such as youth and job creation, economic and cultural cooperation, including the common challenges and shared vision of the EU and the AU.
5th Africa Day International Conference
The Conference addressed the current challenges – from demographic trends and regional integration to development of African cities and countryside.
4th Africa Day International Conference
The Conference focused on cooperation between the two continents in the light of the post-2015 Development Agenda and intercultural and interreligious dialogue.
3rd Africa Day International Conference
The Conference was dedicated to human capital development, circular migration, sustainable development and the development of the economy and information society in Africa.
2nd Africa Day International Conference
The Conference highlighted the dynamic opportunities that Africa has to offer in economic cooperation with a scientific focus.

The Conference marked the 10th anniversary of the African Union and was the first event to put cooperation between Slovenia and African countries in the spotlight.
